In Favor with the Lord

Everyone is a sinner even before their birth. Sin runs in our veins and it is part of our nature.

So who, then, can be seen in favor with the Lord?

  1. Those with an afflicted heart

Psalm 10:17 – “You, Lord, hear the desire of the afflicted; you encourage them, and you listen to their cry,” We must constantly be in affliction as we fight this spiritual war against Satan and our sinful nature. We need to cry out for His protection, His guidance through the narrow gates.

  2. Those with a honest heart
Psalm 7:10 – “My shield is God Most High, who saves the upright in heart.” We must stay holy; separated from the world. The world in which people lie and cheat others. We need to have an upright heart.
  3. Those with a contrite and broken heart
Psalm 34:18 – “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” True believers have no pride. They do not rely on their own thoughts and ways, but seek earnestly for God’s will for them. They are humble and declare themselves to the Lord.

  4. Those with the heart of the fear of God
Jeremiah 32:38-41 – “They will be my people, and I will be their God. 39 I will give them singleness of heart and action, so that they will always fear me and that all will then go well for them and for their children after them. 40 I will make an everlasting covenant with them: I will never stop doing good to them, and I will inspire them to fear me, so that they will never turn away from me. 41 I will rejoice in doing them good and will assuredly plant them in this land with all my heart and soul.” Fear God. Tremble before God. Be afraid of what He is able to do. Fear Him so much that we cannot do anything but to obey our Creator and never turn away from Him. People might ask, “Tremble? Be afraid? What happened to the relationship that God wanted between true believers and Him?” True believers know that while fearing the one and only God, they feel complete joy and freedom when following His ways.

Nars Creamy Concealer

So, I haven’t tried that many concealers. Here’s the list of the concealers I have tried:

-Tarte Maracuja concealer
-Makeup Forever Full Cover Concealer
-Bobbi Brown Face Touch Up Stick
-Bare Minerals mineral concealer
-Benefit’s Fake Up concealer
-Yves Saint Laurent Radiant Touch stick

and last but not least (hopefully)…….

Nars Creamy Concealer

the Nars Creamy Concealer.

And this is the concealer that I want to focus on today. First of all, the name does its justice. This concealer is SUPER SUPER creamy. So for those of you who want to apply this on the under eye, I recommend applying a very good and effective eye cream beforehand. Also, the saying ‘little goes a long way’ definitely applies to this concealer. Since it’s so creamy, just adding 2 dots of it around the nose area, you can spread it out toward the entire cheek. When applying this concealer, you want to use your fingers to really dab it in the skin. And lastly, make sure to use a good and effective setting powder. The one I am using right now is the Laura Mercier Invisible Pressed Setting Powder. But I also recommend the Tarte loose setting powder. Whatever works for you!

I have used this concealer for about 2 weeks every day. And I will say that I will not be using this as much anymore. I will be going back to my trusty Makeup Forever Full Cover concealer!

Advocate Vs. Accuser

The Holy Spirit has many names – the Counselor, the Comforter, our Guidance, Witness, etc…but the one name that I want to focus on today is this: the Holy Spirit is our Advocate.

Now, Satan also has couple names as well. But the two most common ones are liar and Accuser.

Let’s imagine a courtroom. There’s Satan, the accuser, pointing at you, telling you “You’re not saved! You’re still a dirty, nasty sinner! You have no one, you are a loner, no one loves you!”

More times than not, most people (Believers and non believers) fall for those accusations made by the Accuser; Satan. But here’s the difference in the outcomes of the impact between believers and non believers. For believers, we have our Advocate, the Holy Spirit. He is there telling us (the true believers of Christ), “The Scripture is the truth. You believe in Jesus Christ, the only person that can bridge the gap between you and the Father. Because of this belief and the faith you put in Jesus Christ, you have earned eternal life. You have received and felt the abundance of love from the Father. Though nothing in the world can truly satisfy your needs, your walk with Jesus Christ makes you whole. I (the Holy Spirit) is here to guide and protect you.”

Wow.

What can the Accuser do when we have such a powerful force that advocates for us?

Satan and the unbelievers are fighting a war that cannot be won.

True believers of Christ are fighting a war that we cannot lose because it has already been won by Jesus Christ.

So, to those who follow this blog, I just wanted to say that I am sorry for the long hiatus. I was very busy with personal conflicts over the month + weeks. I will be constantly updating the blog more often from now on!

The second is t…

The second is that the plan of God comprehends and determines all things and events of every kind that come to pass. If you believe that God has determined certain ends, then you must believe that He determines everything that leads to those ends. If you believe that God decided to create at a given point, that He decided that the end of the world, according to time, is to take place at a given point, surely, if the end is determined, everything that leads to that end must also be determined.

Conceal, Don’t feel

Hello my dear makeup lovers!

Today, I will be sharing with you a list of concealers and my opinions on them! As mentioned in my last makeup post, summer is all about having a light and natural face. Read along to find out which concealers might be the best for your skin!

  • ALL TIME FAVORITE: Tarte Maracuja Creaseless Concealer
Now, this is my favorite concealer for under eye concealing. Why? Because as it says, it’s creaseless. That is important because you don’t want dry lines under your eyes after a few hours of applying concealer. Especially if you have wrinkles under your eyes or baggy eyes. If you tend to have dryer skin under your eye, this is the go-to concealer for you. RATING: 9/10
  • Makeup Forever Full Cover Concealer
You have tiny spots on your face. Or scars left from un-popped zits. Or redness around your nose area and lips. Well fear no more makeup lovers because this Makeup Forever Full Cover Concealer is for you. It has a whole bunch of product and all you need is a little bit to cover up all the spots on your face. Find the right color that blends in perfectly with your skin color and conceal away! RATING 8/10
  • Boi-ing by Benefit Cosmetics
This concealer is definitely not for people with dry skin. It’s very matte and gets really dry. A good concealer at a pretty good price ($20 at Sephora). However, after using this concealer for about two weeks, I had to return it. For spot concealing, it was okay. For under eye concealing, it had. to. GO. RATING: 5/10
  • Bobbi Brown Face Touch Up Stick
I first got this concealer because people around me were creating such a big hype about it. So I got it. And I tried it on. And I put another layer on top. And another. What the? Where’s the concealer? I didn’t see a difference between my regular face compared to the face after I applied this concealer. After I took a close look, I saw there were dry patches where I applied it so many times because it wouldn’t conceal. But remember, this is my review after I have used the product. Many people around me have loved this product. For me, the Face Touch Up Stick doesn’t do much. RATING: 4/10
  • Fake Up Concealer by Benefit Cosmetics
This one is actually pretty good. Does not crease hours after applying to the under eye. And it does give that natural fine look. It’s also very easy to use as it’s in a stick form and creamy! I recommend this as another very good product for dry under eye. RATING: 7/10

So, that’s all I have for you guys today! It’s not a very long list of concealers, but once I found my perfect match of the Tarte Maracuja Creaseless Concealer and Makeup Forever Full Cover Concealer, I stopped trying other concealers. If anyone has another recommendations for concealers, leave a reply below! 🙂

**Remember, these are my OWN honest reviews and opinions. I have tried these products.**

Living Life

We just live. Some have a greater purpose of living. Some don’t. Some just live to make enough money to just…live. Some do not have the feeling of happiness while living. Some have more than enough physical assets to have a great time living. But mostly, we all just live. Everyday, same routine. Wake up, go to school or go to work or hang out with friends or be lonely, eat, sleep.

But if you’re a Christian, that is, a true follower of Jesus Christ, we should be feeling joyful in everything we do. I have those times when I ask myself, “Why am I living?” “What if I wasn’t born?” “Why was I created?” “What was the purpose of the creation of me?” ….. And then I realize that I know the answer already: to worship and glorify the One who did create me. To have eternal life and relationship with Him.

To walk with Christ in every step of the way is not easy; We all feel weak and helpless if we skip meals for a day or two. That’s how we feel when we skip our spiritual meals as well. Without eating the Word of God, we feel vulnerable to the devil. We end up leaning on our own decisions and not the decisions from God. People say that it’s not that bad if you go on a week without reading the Word of God. Well I’ll tell you what. That is bad. You are starving your spiritual self and letting your foundation of faith get shaken up.

As imperfect human beings, we all have our ups and downs with our relationship with Christ. But why must we have those “downs”? Yes, God forgives us. He has already forgiven us. But if we read the Bible everyday, eat that spiritual food every single day, we should have the strong conviction of being able to have a steady, strong relationship with Christ. People are born as sinful men. We have that sinfulness in our blood ever since we were conceived in our mother’s womb. But the difference between a true believer and an unbeliever is that, true believers have the Holy Spirit in them to remind and help them make the right decisions. The decisions that will glorify God and have a stronger relationship with Him.

So whether or not you’re living with less or more, always have joy in everything you do and come against. Because our God is greater. Our God is stronger. Our God is more powerful than any other. Our God is sovereign. In His everlasting arms, all the pieces of our life, from beginning to the end, we can trust Him.

Summer is all about LIGHTWEIGHT!

So about a week ago, I got the Smashbox Camera Ready CC Cream from Sephora.
I liked it but the formula was kind of heavy. And since right now it’s very humid in where I live, I could really feel the foundation on my face.

Summer – it’s all about feeling free and that also includes your face. I don’t want to feel like I have a whole bunch of foundation on when really I only have a little layer.

So what’s my solution?

The Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 20.

It’s soooooo light weight. I don’t even feel like I have anything on. To be honest, when I applied it on my face at first, it was kind of oily. But after I powered some setting power on (Laura Mercier Invisible Pressed Setting Powder, which is also my all time favorite), the oiliness was all gone and my face felt FREE.

So to all of you who need/want to use some kind of cover-up for your face, go for some kind of a tinted moisturizer. BB and CC Creams are all nice, but if you really want that light weight feel, I recommend a tinted moisturizer.

Recognizing the limitations of a human brain

Go to your mom, dad, siblings, friends, arch enemies…and ask this question: “Who created evil? Where does evil come from?”

Not many people would be able to answer that question right away. They would think about it and realize that they aren’t really sure. The bible lets us know what we need to know. Nothing more than that. Let’s look at this verse which tells us where evil comes from:

“I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.” – Isaiah 45:7 (KJV)

So, there’s your answer. The almighty God, the God of Abraham, Jacob, and Issac, creates evil. Which makes sense, because everything comes from God.

Well then, let’s look at this verse:

“Your eyes are too pure to look on evil; you cannot tolerate wrongdoing. Why then do you tolerate the treacherous? Why are you silent while the wicked swallow up those more righteous than themselves?” – Habakkuk 1:13 (NIV)

Here is the ultimate question: Why does God create evil when He cannot even see evil?
WOAH. Wait a minute. Don’t  you mean that God does not WANT to see evil? No. I mean – His eyes CANNOT see evil.
So then why, God? Why do you create evil?

The answer: Holy. God is Holy. His holiness comes before all evil. It is because of His separation from the evil that He is able to create something that He cannot see.

Let’s face it. We don’t understand this concept fully. There’s so many questions that are coming in our brains. Why? Why? Why? How? How? How? But that’s the limit of our mere brains. We don’t understand God fully. We will never be able to until we go to heaven – and knowing God then..that’s not a guarantee. The bible is our limit to that. We will never understand His mighty plans and timing. So all we have to do is trust in Him. Trust that God has a path laid out for us. Whether that path may be smooth or rocky, He is going to be there with us every step of the way.

Think about this. And share your thoughts.

In this virtual world

So here it goes. My first time blogging. Ahhh. I’m nervous. What if I don’t get many followers? What if my views of my blog are the only stats I have? What if…what if…

If I were to think and worry about all of this, I wouldn’t have been able to even create this blog in the first place. I don’t worry. I feel peace in my heart. If I wasn’t supposed to create this blog, I would feel unsure. But I know that I need to start this blog.

Reasons:
1) I want to glorify God by completing the mission He has given me:

“I have brought you glory on earth by finishing the work you gave me to do.” John 17:4

God wants Christians to spread the gospel to the ends of the earth. Although I am unable to physically go to every single place in this world, I do have the power to share the Word of God through the internet. And with my great Verizon FiOS wireless connection, I am more than happy to seize the opportunity.

2) The main focus of this blog is, yes Jesus Christ. However, I want to have to extra twist to it as I blog about makeup products. Writing about the topic of Christianity and the truth is a very serious subject. I want this blog to also have a fun and cool atmosphere. The right to share about the things I love is truly a blessing!
